Michael Francis Lane was a prolific artist. This site displays over two hundred of the his works. These works were created between January 1999 and January 2002.

In creating these works, Michael Francis Lane drew inspiration from the writings of Arthur Rimbaud, Carl Sandburg, Charles Baudelaire, Edgar Allen Poe, Frederico Garcia Lorea, Hart Crane, Louis MacNeice, Oscar Wilde, Paul Verlaine, the movie "Taxi Driver", Rainer Maria Rilke, Stephane Mallarme, Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, William Shakespeare, and William Blake (amongst others).

In the Spring of 2006, Michael Francis Lane's Art was on display at the Flanagan Campus Gallery
 at the Community College of Rhode Island's Campus in Lincoln, RI.  In a review of this showing of Michael Francis Lane's Art, (printed in the The Providence Journal's Live March 16-19,2006) Bill Van Siclen said,

"...it's Lane's emotional intensity - a rarity in today's over-conceptualized art world - that seems to have struck a chord with viewers."
